Mathematics is a driving force behind the notations of composers as well as melodies created by musicians.
Music and mathematics are connected to each other by way of many variables, like for example -- counting, proportions, periodicity, rhythm, scales, intervals, patterns, time signatures, pitch etc.
From ancient Indian treatise “Natya Shastra" to Pythagoras' observations of the fundamental mathematical relationship between vibrations & harmony, to the Sanskrit treatise "Sangita Ratnakara", there is a profound body of work detailing some algorithm or relationship involving mathematics & music.
We, at Mathific Labs, use our own experience with math & algorithms for studying elements of music such as tempo, chord progression, pitch, timing and structure of music.
We use this to create songs & music videos – in keeping with our aim of applying math & algorithm to consumer-centric products.
From ancient Indian sage Panini’s linguistic works (algebraic rules governing aspects of language), to Natya-Shastra’s algorithms of input, output & desired effects, to today’s NLP(Natural language processing), there is a deep relation between math & creative content.
With two USA copyrights (“A quantitative System for Reflexive Financial Markets” & “Standing at the Bottom, Thinking of the Top”) & further works under progress, we, at Mathific Labs, are constantly trying to innovate in the world of creativity, content & publishing.
